You can monitor additional inboxes within Lavender by using an alias or adding additional mailboxes.

Here are the key differences between the two:

Aliases

What is an alias?

An alias, or an alternate email address, is an additional email address associated with your email provider account. An alias uses the same inbox, contact list, and account settings as your primary email address.

Alias’ are typically more common with Outlook users than Gmail users, though you can use alias’ with Google Workspace.

How to add an email address that is an alias

To add an alias, head to Settings > Account > “Your Alias Emails.”

Why should I add my alias'?

Adding your alias emails will allow Lavender to track emails sent from those additional email addresses, allowing you to view analytics for those emails in your Dashboard.

This will help provide insight into how well communications from an alias email - versus your primary email address - are being received.

Additional Mailboxes

Want to keep your Lavender account connected to your email but be able to utilize Lavender with your work email address? Have multiple email addresses across different providers - one with Gmail and one with Outlook? Adding a mailbox is the solution!

Note: additional mailboxes are included in all our paid plans. It is not available for Basic or Trialing users at this time.

How to add mailboxes to your Lavender account

  1. Click the (+) sign on the left side of your Dashboard.

2. A login prompt screen will appear with “+ Add Mailbox” at the top. Click either “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Microsoft,” depending on the email provider for your additional email address.

3. The sign-in authorization screen will appear. Sign in with the email address you wish to add as an additional mailbox and follow the authorization prompts.

How to verify that the mailbox has been added successfully

To confirm the additional mailbox has been added, look to the left side panel of your Dashboard. You should now see two boxes - one for your primary mailbox and one for the additional mailbox. When hovering over each mailbox logo, a text box will appear with the email address associated with that mailbox!

Now, you can toggle back and forth between each mailbox by clicking on their icons on the left side panel!

Additional steps to take to maximize the use of additional mailbox

Once you’ve connected your additional mailbox, there are a few additional steps to take to ensure you’re maximizing the use of Lavender for that mailbox:

  • While in your additional mailbox, go to Settings > Integrations

  • Click either “Connect to Gmail” or “Connect to Microsoft” (depending on your email provider) to connect your account. This will allow Lavender to improve your recommendations and analytics.

  • Follow the authorization prompts.

You’ll know that the connection is complete when the text on the button says “Disconnect from Gmail” or “Disconnect from Microsoft.”

What Lavender features will be available on the additional mailbox?

💡 Please note: additional mailboxes added on a Plan are created at the same Plan.

For example, if your primary account is on a Pro subscription, any additional mailboxes added will behave as a Pro mailbox and have access to all the features included in Pro.
