First, ensure that Ora is properly connected to SalesForce. We need to map Ora content to Salesforce fields & properly set up senders before content can be delivered to Outreach.
Check this article first: https://help.lavender.ai/en/articles/11793654-how-to-connect-salesforce-to-ora
Now that Ora can populate Salesforce fields, we need to get the emails into Outreach!
You’ll need to:
1) Map the new Salesforce fields to Outreach
2) Create templates that pull these new fields.
3) Create sequences to coordinate the templates
4) Create automations to enroll contacts into the sequences when the fields update
Let’s dig in.
Mapping Your New Salesforce Fields to Outreach
Outreach Help Article: https://support.outreach.io/hc/en-us/articles/219124908-How-To-Add-a-Custom-Field-in-Outreach?utm_source=chatgpt.com
Before you start, confirm:
You have Outreach admin permissions.
The Salesforce → Outreach sync is already connected.
(Settings → Integrations → CRM → Salesforce shows “Connected.”)
The Outreach integration user in Salesforce has Field-Level Security (FLS) access to each Ora field.
Step 1: Confirm Fields exist & are visible in Salesforce
In Salesforce:
1) Go to Setup → Object Manager → Contact → Fields & Relationships.
Confirm each field appears:
Ora_Body_1__c
Ora_Body_2__c
Ora_Body_3__c
Ora_Body_4__c
Ora_Subject__c
2) For each:
Click into the field.
Under Set Field-Level Security, ensure the profile for your Outreach Integration User has Visible checked.
Note the Field Type (they’re likely “Text” or “Long Text Area”).
Copy the Field Name (API Name) — you’ll see it as Ora_Body_1__c etc.
(This is what Outreach will display in the CRM Field dropdown.)
Step 2: Create Matching Prospect custom fields in Outreach
You need one Prospect field in Outreach for each Ora_ field.
In Outreach:
Go to Settings → Records → Prospects → Fields configuration.
(If you don’t see “Records,” click your profile picture → “Administration.”)
Click Add configuration.
For each of your 5 fields, create one Outreach field:
Salesforce Field | Outreach Field Label | Field Type |
Ora_Body_1__c | Ora Body 1 | Text Area |
Ora_Body_2__c | Ora Body 2 | Text Area |
Ora_Body_3__c | Ora Body 3 | Text Area |
Ora_Body_4__c | Ora Body 4 | Text Area |
Ora_Subject__c | Ora Subject | Text Area |
Click Save after adding each one.
You’ll now see them listed under your Prospect field configurations.
Step 3: Map the Salesforce Contact fields to your Outreach Prospect fields
In Outreach:
Go to Settings → Integrations → CRM → Salesforce.
Under Objects, click Contact.
Scroll to the Field Mappings section.
Click Add Mapping (bottom of the list) — you’ll do this 5 times, one for each Ora field.
For each new row:
CRM Field (Salesforce) | Outreach Field | Sync Direction | Notes |
Ora_Body_1__c | Ora Body 1 | Inbound (Salesforce → Outreach) | Email 1 in Ora Sequence |
Ora_Body_2__c | Ora Body 2 | Inbound | Email 2 in Ora Sequence |
Ora_Body_3__c | Ora Body 3 | Inbound | Email 3 in Ora Sequence |
Ora_Body_4__c | Ora Body 4 | Inbound |
|
Ora_Subject__c | Ora Subject | Inbound | Subject Line used in Ora Sequence |
Click Save when done.
Create Templates with New Fields
Now that we’ve created our fields and their mapped. We need to create templates that use the fields.
NOTE: The fields *are* the email. So the templates created will only use the variable.
Step 1: Create Your Template
Open the template section.
Create a new template for:
Ora Email 1
Ora Email 2
Ora Email 3
Step 2: Add Your New Variable
In the Ora Email 1 template, insert your new {{Ora Body 1}} variable.
In the Ora Email 2 template, insert your new {{Ora Body 1}} variable.
In the Ora Email 3 template, insert your new {{Ora Body 1}} variable.
Add {{Ora Subject}} to the subject line.
The only information needed in these templates is the respective variable.
Create Your Ora Sequence with New Templates
Now that the templates are created, we’ll want to wire them together into a sequence. Create a new sequence, “Ora Campaign”. Within this sequence, you’ll put the email steps into their respective order.
Note: You’ll want the templates to work in the same thread. Be sure to connect the subject line to be a response to the prior email.
Manual vs. Automated
You have full control at this stage. Set the sequence steps up to be manual if you want the seller to review and edit the draft before sending, or set it up as automated if you trust Ora’s outputs.
Multi-Channel
You can also add important multi-channel steps along the way here. Ora emails are designed to be memorable given their 1:1 nature. This compounds the effectiveness of using other channels as you’re more likely to trigger reciprocity in the recipient.
Create Your Enrollment Automations
Now that the skeleton is built, we need to wire it together. Ora will push emails into the Salesforce fields. Those fields map to Outreach. But, we need to get the fields being filled to enroll the contact into the sequence so they can be contacted with the messaging Ora created.
Step 1: Confirm Sync Behavior
Before automating, confirm that:
Outreach is receiving updates for your Ora fields.
Open any synced Prospect and make sure the Ora Body 1–4 and Ora Subject fields are populating.
Outreach’s CRM sync runs frequently enough (every few minutes by default).
This ensures sequence enrollment fires promptly once Ora updates Salesforce.
Step 2: Create a Smart View (optional but helpful)
Smart Views make it easier to debug and visualize who’s ready for sequence enrollment.
Go to Prospects → Smart Views → + Create Smart View
Name it: “Ready for Ora Enrollment”
Add filters such as:
Ora Body 1 is not empty
Sequence Status is not Active
Save the view.
This shows you exactly who is “ready” — meaning Ora has written an email and the Prospect isn’t already in a sequence.
Step 3: Create an Automation Rule in Outreach
Go to Settings → Automations → + Add Rule
Name: Auto-Enroll: Ora Campaign
Trigger:
When a Prospect is updated
Conditions:
Ora Body 1 is not empty
Sequence Status is not Active
(Optionally add Stage = New Lead or any other qualifier you use.)
Action:
Add to Sequence → Ora Campaign
Choose Sequence Step Owner = Prospect Owner (or whichever user owns the contact).
(Optional) Second Action:
Update field → Stage = In Sequence or Ora Enrollment Trigger = Processed to prevent re-enrollment loops.
Save & Activate the rule.
Now, every time a synced prospect has Ora Body 1 filled in, Outreach automatically drops them into the Ora Campaign sequence. This will ensure contacts who Ora has written emails for get an email.
Step 4: Test the Automation
In Salesforce, pick a Contact synced with Outreach.
Enter test text in Ora_Body_1__c and Ora_Subject__c, save the record.
Wait for Outreach’s sync to pull the data.
Confirm that:
The Prospect’s Ora Body 1 field in Outreach updates.
The Prospect automatically appears in the Ora Campaign sequence.
If successful, Outreach is now autonomously triggering enrollment as soon as Ora populates new messaging.
Step 5: (Optional) Add Safeguards or Delays
If you want to control timing or limit volume:
Add a Wait action or condition (e.g., enroll only if Last Contacted Date is blank).
Or run enrollment in batches using Smart Views + manual “Enroll in Sequence” for higher review control.
Step 6: Monitor Performance
Once live, check:
Automation Logs: ensure rules are firing.
Sequence performance metrics: open rate, reply rate, etc.
Prospect history: verify that enrollment events appear right after Salesforce updates.
